NUST SMME hosts an academic delegation from Tongwon University, Republic of Korea



NUST School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering (SMME) had the honor of hosting a distinguished academic delegation from Tongwon University, Republic of Korea, under the Korean-Pakistan Educational Corridor (KPEC) program. The delegation was led by Professor Dr. Jongin Choi, President of Tongwon University, accompanied by his team, and was joined by Dr. Khurram Iqbal, President of the Consortium for Asia Pacific and Eurasian Studies CAPES) along with his team.
The visiting delegates were warmly received by the faculty at SMME, where both sides engaged in open and productive discussions on areas of mutual academic and research interest. The delegates also had the opportunity to tour SMME’s state-of-the-art research laboratories, gaining firsthand insight into the school’s cutting-edge capabilities in engineering. The visit further included a productive meeting with Pro-Rector Academics, Dr. Osman Hassan, as well as Dr. Sahar from the NUST International Office.
Representatives from both institutions engaged in meaningful dialogue on academic collaboration, joint research initiatives, student and faculty exchange programmes, and technology transfer. Both sides expressed strong and keen interest in advancing future collaborations that would benefit the academic and research communities of Pakistan and the Republic of Korea.
The visit marks a significant step forward in strengthening bilateral academic ties between the two nations and reflects the shared commitment of NUST and Tongwon University to promote innovation, knowledge exchange, and people-to-people connections through education.
