NUST Wins First Place at HEC’s Pakistan Universities Debating Championship 2024-25 (Regional Round)!

NUST has secured First Place in the English Category at HEC’s Pakistan Universities Debating Championship 2024-25 (Regional Round – ICT, Rawalpindi, Wah, Taxila, AJK & G-B), held on February 26, 2025, at NUML Auditorium and HEC Auditorium.

The winning team, representing NUST Debating Society (NDS), included Ms Rija Fatima (NBS), Mr Shahmir Muhammad (SMME) and Ms Tayyaba Naveed (SEECS). Competing against 30 universities, they demonstrated exceptional debating skills and critical thinking, securing this prestigious title for NUST.

NUST Debating Society operates under the supervision of NUST Business School (NBS), with Dr Muhammad Adil Iqbal, Assistant Professor at NBS, serving as the faculty sponsor. Through its commitment to excellence, NBS has played a key role in fostering a strong debating culture at NUST, enabling students to refine their academic, intellectual and communication abilities.

The achievement reflects NUST’s dedication to academic excellence and intellectual growth, providing students with a platform to engage in meaningful discourse at the national level.
