NUST’s EcoSynergy Initiative Promotes Sustainability and SDG 12 Awareness

NUST, in its capacity as the UNAI Global Hub Chair for SDG 12, through its Office of Sustainability successfully hosted EcoSynergy, a high-impact awareness event marking the official launch of the university’s Phase-Out Plastic Campaign. The initiative was launched by Pro-Rector (RIC), Dr Rizwan Riaz and witnessed an exceptional presence from students, faculty, and campus staff.

A key highlight of the day was the SDG 12 Awareness Hike through the NUST trail, where participants engaged with interactive awareness stations, explored the environmental costs of plastic dependency, and learned about sustainable alternatives through creative demonstrations. Winners of the activity stations also received eco-friendly prizes.

As part of this initiative, the Office of Sustainability announced its transition from plastic to reusable glass bottles across campus, advancing our mission to minimize waste, encourage mindful consumption, and embed sustainability into daily campus life.
