PhD Researcher at SEECS, Fehmida Usmani wins Corning Women in Optical Communications Scholarship Award



We are delighted to share that NUST PhD researcher, Fehmida Usmani at Optical Networks & Technologies Lab at the School of Electrical Engineering & Computer Science has been selected as one of the international recipients of the “Corning Women in Optical Communications Scholarship Award.”
This prestigious scholarship celebrates the excellence of women and their contributions to telecom and data centre optics, a merit-based position recognising outstanding women in the field of optical communications and networking.
Three scholarships of USD 3,000 are distributed annually to supplement tuition, mandatory fees and other expenses.
Additionally, Ms Fehmida Usmani will also receive up to USD 2,000 in travel expenses, housing and registration fees to attend OFC where they will be recognised. at the Optical Fiber Communication Conference® to be held in San Diego, California, USA.
