Saif Ullah Khaki from SEECS wins best overall prize in Helyx Hacks (International Edition) for his Project ‘Schar’

Another day, another NUSTian makes us proud!
We are pleased to announce that Saifullah Khaki from NUST School of Electrical Engineering & Computer Science (SEECS) has won the best overall prize while securing first position at Helyx Hacks (International Edition) for his project “Schar.” The bioinformatics-based hackathon took place virtually in December 2020.
Project ‘Schar’ provides a smart solution to help grow the production of Bioethanol from dedicated energy crops as a replacement for fossil fuels. Biofuels are advantageous in a variety of ways, such as maintaining a positive energy balance, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and generating electricity.
NUST is proud of its brilliant students who continue to shine despite these challenging times, bagging achievements from all around the world.
