SEECS students bag 2nd position in APPCON 2020; Telenor Microfinance Bank’s digital application development initiative



We are extremely proud to announce that a team of three students from NUST School of Electrical Engineering & Computer Science (SEECS) – including Saud Kamran (BE Software Engineering), Hassan Khalid Butt (BE Software Engineering), and Hamiz Ali (BE Computer Science) of Class of 2022 – has won the second position in APPCON 2020; Telenor Pakistan Microfinance Bank’s initiative for aspiring individuals in the country towards digital application development. The winners were shortlisted from a pool of 24 registrations that came from leading educational institutes of Pakistan. The team has won a prize of 125k PKR and an internship opportunity at Telenor.
Its app “AwaazPay” is a mobile banking android app that empowers visually-impaired persons and persons with physical disabilities. The app allows the users to make their desired transactions, such as transferring money to different users and paying utility bills, on the go.
