Dr Wajiha Haq, Associate Professor, Economics, NUST School of Social Sciences & Humanities (S3H), has been awarded the highly esteemed ANH Academy Science–Policy Fellowship (2025–26).

Recognized as one of the leading international initiatives at the intersection of agriculture, nutrition and health, the fellowship is jointly led by Tufts University and the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, with support from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO).

The project undertaken by Dr Wajiha Haq under this fellowship was mentored by Dr Zafar Mehmood, Principal S3H.

Her achievement underscores NUST’s unwavering commitment to research excellence and impactful global engagement.

NUST School of Electrical Engineering & Computer Science (SEECS) is seeking talented individuals to join a funded research project. Interested candidates may apply for the following three positions:

1. Research Assistant (System Design Engineer)
Responsible for system design of FMC-based MIMO Transceiver Card, schematic capture, BOM creation, FPGA firmware development (Verilog/VHDL), and board testing. Candidates must hold a BS in Electrical, Electronics, or Computer Engineering, with strong communication, teamwork, and analytical skills.

2. Research Assistant (Firmware Engineer) – Involves development in an agile environment, maintaining Yocto/Petalinux build systems, scripting for platform control, debugging embedded Linux code, and designing and testing system software.

3. MS/MPhil Student – Focused on microarchitecture design, RTL coding, FPGA-based implementation, and hardware/software co-design. Preference will be given to candidates pursuing MS in Electrical, Electronics, or Computer Engineering, with familiarity in signal processing, communication algorithms, and embedded protocols (I2C/SPI/UART, Ethernet, WiFi, USB, etc.).
