UNDERGRADUATE ADMISSION / SELECTION PROCESS
Filling the Online Application Form:
- Enter the correct data in online NET application form or ACT / SAT basis application form.
- Academic details and marks entered in online application form should be accurate and according to original academic documents
- O & A level stream candidates should enter marks according to equivalency certificate marks duly issued by IBCC, Pakistan and refrain from entering self-calculated marks as it will affect their merit position and may lead to cancellation of admission at later stage.
- Candidates applying on basis of ACT / SAT should have valid required score by due date for generation of merit.
- Candidates should have completed required SSC & HSSC (O & A level / Equivalent) qualification before commencement of classes.
Program Preferences
- When selecting program preferences on NUST website, candidates should ensure to choose preferences that align with their genuine interests and academic goals. Selecting programs that are not acceptable to them may result in unnecessary fee payments and complications during the selection process. Candidates are advised to carefully consider their preferences to avoid any potential issues.
Merit Generation:-
- Merit lists of NET and ACT/SAT based National and International seats are generated, tentatively by last week of July.
- After merit generation, candidates are given 1 – 2 days to edit / amend their choices / preferences in the following disciplines (applicable only, if applied)

Selection Process:
- Candidates are offered admission through NUST UG Admission Portal https://ugadmissions.nust.edu.pk/ where they can search their merit position / selection status by entering their Registration No. Selected candidates can find their provisional selection letter, UG instructions, Medical certificate alongwith Fee Invoice.
- Candidates have to take print of fee invoice and pay the admission dues through 1-Link / 1-Bill Invoice using Mobile App of any Bank, Easy Paisa, Jazz Cash etc OR Cash counters of Askari Bank throughout Pakistan.
- Candidates have to pay the admission dues in time to remain in selection process.
- Candidates who do not pay admission dues in time will not be considered any further in the selection process e.g. a candidate offered admission in Engg program will be out of selection process of Engg program if he / she does not pay admission dues in time.
- Candidates have to send payment proof along with photocopies of academic documents to Registrar Dte as mentioned in provisional selection letter, by due date.
- Candidates are offered admission in a programme as per the preference of choices exercised by them in online application form and attained merit position.
- Candidates cannot be considered in a programme if they have not opted in online application form.
- Candidates will remain in selection process for upgradation in programme of a certain discipline (e.g Engineering etc) as per their preferences, on availability of seats due to “drop out” and “no responses” of provisionally selected candidates, provided they have deposited admission dues in time.
- After depositing admission dues, if a candidate desires to be retained in the allocated programme irrespective of the preferences given in the application form, he / she has to apply through “Freezing the UG programme” performa available on https://nust.edu.pk/downloads/forms/ by due date as mentioned in provisional selection letter. The upgradation will be blocked in subsequent selections.
- Candidates can opt for change of preferences within specified disciplines Engineering / Computing programme / Architecture & B Industrial Design / Business Studies & Social Sciences and Applied Sciences (BS Biotechnology / BS Environmental Science / BS Agriculture) by applying on prescribed “Change of Preferences” performa available on https://nust.edu.pk/downloads/forms/ and paying the prescribed fee. The subject change depends upon availability of seat and attained merit position, and is only valid during current selection process. Candidates can avail this option only ONCE during the selection process.
- Candidates are advised to regularly visit NUST website https://ugadmissions.nust.edu.pk/ for their upgradation status of selection / upgradation.
- Selection process is generally carried up to 2nd week after commencement of classes at H-12 campus, atter that selection process gets closed.
- No admission is possible once admission process is closed.
- Selected candidates have to provide original documents to concerned school / college at time of joining along with medical certificate and affidavit.
- All candidates including Matric & FA / FSc Stream have to get their educational documents attested for Inter Boards Coordination Commission (IBCC), Pakistan before submitting the same to university at time of joining.
- SSC & HSSC or equivalent qualification should be complete with required subjects and percentage before start of classes.
- Any candidate appearing in any exam of SSC & HSSC after the start of classes is not eligible and will be withdrawn at any stage. Similarly, candidates with any academic deficiency are also not eligible for admission.
- Candidates appearing in 2nd Annual Exam of Boards of Intermediate & Secondary Education OR appearing in Oct / Nov exam in case of O & A level / Equivalent qualification are not eligible for admission in current session.
- Candidates applying for LLB should have valid LAT score at time of commencement of classes. Any LAT exam taken after the date of commencement of classes is not acceptable.
- Candidates who do not provide educational documents at time of joining the school, will be given one week time to provide the same, failing which, they will not be allowed to sit in the class.
- Refund of admission dues will be as per policy mentioned in Provisional Selection letter. Refund will ONLY be processed as per policy once application is received on specified performa of “Refund of Admission Dues” available on https://nust.edu.pk/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/Refund-of-Admission-Dues-Undergraduate-Postgraduate-PhD-1.pdf
